Exactly two years ago on August 19th 2012 NBC News shared one of my photos on their Facebook page. I lived in London during that time to shoot some stuff during the Olympics when I heard that Julian Assange might hold a speech at the Ecuadorian Embassy. It was an interesting example for me regarding the future of journalism. There were certainly 6 dozen more photographers and a handful OB vans from international news stations at the plaza in front of the embassy on this rainy Sunday morning but the fastest news sources were in fact Twitter and Facebook. I actually uploaded this photo from my iPad with the Camera Connection kit that I connected to my DSLR.
UPDATE: Julian Assange announced this weekend that he might leave the embassy soon. It's pretty interesting that he chose almost the same day for his announcement.
